But more than that, it has taken the box office and showbiz gossip storm. Avatar has held on to the box office for a long time since it was
released. Who would believe that a chick flick can get it off its high horse? The romantic movie “Dear John” which stars
Amanda Seyfried and Channing Tatum, dislodged Avatar’s $6 million earning on
that day, by earning $13.8 million. It looks like the seven week lucky streak
of the Avatar movie is coming to an end no thanks to “Dear John”. The success of “Dear John” is really no
surprise at all considering that a lot of teenagers and even adults are into
the Nicholas Sparks novel mania.
